It’s Banned Books Week!

Standard

It’s Banned Books week!

What do Captain Underpants, In the Night KitchenBlubber, and The Stupids all have in common?

They’re four of the most challenged books between 2000-2009.

Books can be challenged, and possibly banned, for the use of profanity, mature themes, depictions of nudity, or violence. Read more about why certain classics have been challenged or banned.

To celebrate Banned Books Week, I’m wearing my banned book bracelets all week. I own both, and I’m proud to say I’ve read all – and own many – of the books they depict.

Fight censorship. Make up your own mind about what to read.
